Instructor: Anne Mitchell

Join us for a 3-day masterclass with Anne Mitchell. Anne has become known for her clean designs that combine Silver Metal Clay and fine silver components. We'll tackle 3 projects that encompass the best techniques in metal clay and metalsmithing combined.

We'll tackle the following projects; 1) Silver metal clay with Semi-Precious Stone Heavy Gauge Bezel Pendant - In this action packed and intensive project we'll make a silver metal clay base to hold a Baguette Cut Gemstone. After firing, we will add the prongs for the pressure setting and a heavy gauge hand created bezel and bail to set off this amazing pendant. All of this will be finished off with a hand made fine silver chain in it’s creation, Anne will show us all her tricks for fast and furious chains. 2) PMC Hinged Locket - Make your locket the place to keep things that are precious close to your heart. In this project we'll learn several precious metal clay construction techniques that you can utilize to create one-of-a-kind lockets. Hinges are no longer an issue as we learn cool new ways to make them! A pressure ball closure ensures a lid that is secure and a bail that will accent any creation from a fine silver chain, a beaded rope or braided leather. 3) Forged Heart Pendant with metal clay accents. In this project we'll unlock the pure joy of working a piece of thick 8 gauge round wire to forge and form this unique heart pendant. We'll place rivet accents around the formed pendant, fuse our bails and finally personalize the pendant with special final touches. All of our projects will take a turn in the tumbler and a bath in a patina solution that will make each and every piece unique.
